HELLO!

I’m Laura Katherine McMillan. I’m an author/illustrator living on the west coast of Canada (Vancouver Island) with my husband, son and cat.

As a kid I would redraw Garfield comics by Jim Davis, honing my cat drawing skills. Since I am an adult now I decided to come up with my own cat character because that seems like an adult way to draw cats. Meow was born in the winter of 2012 in a small cabin on Salt Spring Island and I have been amusing myself (and hopefully others) with his adventures ever since.

When I’m not writing stories and painting I like to lift weights, hike and mountain bike.

Sometimes my illustrations turn into embroidery patterns which is a hobby I use to slow down and relax.
